As we grow, we all evolve. Evolution is the key to progression. Sometimes its very hard for us to see how we have changed, it takes others telling us and giving us examples of how we have changed before we can even begin to believe it.

To properly break down an evolution of this magnitude it has to be divided. The division will show the elements of her growth that culminated to present day Rihanna.

X First we will start off with the evolution of her style.

From her demeanor to her hair, Rihanna has made a complete transformation. From a young innocent girl from the islands to cutting edge style icon. In the last 5 years Rihanna’s style has evolved and grew into a notable force to be respected. Not being afraid to take chances is what keeps Rihanna at the top of her game. As she matures so does her image, each year adding more sex appeal, taking risks and pushing it to the limit. No matter where you believe she got her style from, you can’t deny that she has consistently set trends.

X Next there is her musical growth.

Rihannas growth in her music is very apparent. Listening to her discography will take you on a journey both interesting and telling. Through her music she gives us a glimpse into her life at that time all the while creating amazing art. With each album she gets a little bit more edgy, a little bit more “bad”. The strength of her content grows at the same rate as her voice.

Not knowing her personally, the motive or reasons for these changes can be disputed and debated but the actual change is evident. Whether you think its for the best or the worst, she is becoming a woman before our eyes and influencing lives everywhere. Love or hate her Rihanna has evolved to one of the biggest icons of the last decade.

lol she’s gone from wearing clothes to not wearing clothes. to admitting that she was “too busy to finish school”, to using a tragic public event to try to sell albums, and from not being able to sing…to still not being able to sing.

    some icon.
